According to reports, this process is more flexible than the commonly used cutter suction, sucking and chain bucket dredgers, and is more suitable for dredging in narrow waters such as berth front and harbor basin. Its working efficiency is 40 minutes and it is filled with a level of 1000 tons of dumping vessels.
Ding Naiqing, director of the Tianjin Port Port Facilities Management Center, said that from a technical point of view, this technology has three characteristics: the first feature, its operation mode is sucking, can be used in the case of inconvenient operation of the grab boat and the cutter suction boat. The squirting boat replaces them; the second feature is that when there is a large ship operation on the berth, the squirting boat can be operated in the outer gear. After the ship is gone, the shovel can be dredged on the berth without affecting the operation of the ship. The third feature is in the harbor. In the case of shallow points, it can be easily disposed of by a dredger. If other large dredgers are used, it is not worthwhile.
At present, this new technology is being fully rolled out in the berths of the northern ports of Tianjin Port and the Dongjiang Port Area and the dredging of the harbor basin. It is reported that Tianjin Port is still improving and perfecting this new technology, and its operating efficiency is expected to double, reaching the target of 1000 tons of dredging in 20 minutes.
