(1) Applicable conditions

The 1st stage mining method requires that the ore and surrounding rock be stable, especially the surrounding rock should have sufficient stability so that it cannot be produced during mining.

3 Requirements are steeply inclined, thick ore bodies.

4 Applicable to mining bodies with low mining value.

(2) Main advantages:

(3) Main disadvantages:

1 The ore column accounts for a relatively large amount of minerals (up to 35-60%) and returns to the mining column. The ore loss and depletion are relatively large. If the large blasting method is used to return to the mining column, the ore loss can reach 40-60%.

2 The bulk rate is relatively high, reaching 20-30%. (Some reach about 35%). This increases the amount of secondary crushing work, as well as increases consumption and deteriorates mining conditions.

3 Through production practice, it is proved that mining in this way is more serious. Because the upper plate is free and full during the blasting, and the breaking freedom of the lower plate is not sufficient, each blasting leaves a piece, and the more it stays.

(4) It needs to be resolved and the direction of development.

3 Reasonable selection of demineralization parameters to reduce large blocks.

4 Improve rock drilling tools and equipment. Solve the upper level roadway tunneling mechanization. In particular, the tunneling and rock drilling chambers are difficult to excavate and mine, and the physical labor is heavy. It should be improved.
