At present, the annual production of accelerator M exceeds 150,000 tons and the output is very large. Most of the domestic accelerants M are produced using aniline, carbon disulfide and sulfur as raw materials, and crude M is obtained by synthesis under high temperature and high pressure, and crude M is refined. The refining methods are acid-base method and solvent method. Most enterprises adopt the acid-alkali method for refining, resulting in a large amount of waste gas, waste water and waste residue. Exhaust gas has been basically controlled by oxidation in Claus furnace; the main way out of waste residue is comprehensive utilization; wastewater treatment is the most difficult. Among them, the finished product of 1 ton of accelerator M produces about 45 tons of organic wastewater, and the wastewater has a high salt content and is difficult to control. "If you can't solve the problem of wastewater treatment of accelerator M, you can't talk about cleaner production in the rubber chemicals industry. Only by developing clean production processes can you fundamentally solve the 'three wastes' problem of accelerator M." Xu Chunhua said.

It is understood that Henan Liyang Weilin Chemical Co., Ltd. has invested more than 30 million yuan in the treatment of waste water from the treatment accelerator M. At present, it has already produced 1 ton M to produce 15 tons of wastewater; Shandong Shanxian Chemical Co., Ltd. has invested 5000 in environmental protection. In addition, sulfenamide accelerators such as CZ, NS and the like are prepared by using the accelerator M as a raw material and must undergo an oxidation process. At present, most companies use sodium hypochlorite and other oxidants for the reaction, resulting in a large amount of salty wastewater, and the use of oxygen oxidation and H2O2 oxidation process can be avoided. However, the latter has strict requirements on process equipment, and there are still problems in terms of safety and product yield. In recent years, many companies have tried to oxidize DM, CZ, NS, and other process technologies with oxygen, which has greatly reduced emissions, but this process has not yet been promoted in the industry. Xu Chunhua said that the rubber chemicals industry should also vigorously develop oxygen oxidation or H2O2 oxidation processes, while addressing issues such as safety and product yield.

Xu Chunhua pointed out that if the cleaner production process of accelerator M and oxygen oxidation and H2O2 oxidation process technology can be fundamentally resolved, China's rubber chemicals industry will be able to basically achieve the goal of cleaner production.
