Wood Drying Tips (1)

Why does wood dry?

Fresh wood contains a lot of moisture, and the water will evaporate under certain circumstances. The natural evaporation of moisture will lead to wood dry shrinkage, cracking, bending deformation, mildew and other defects, seriously affecting the quality of wood products, so the wood must be forced (controlled) drying before making all kinds of wood products. The correct drying treatment can overcome the above-mentioned wood defects, increase the mechanical strength of the wood, and improve the processing performance of the wood. It is an important technical measure for the rational use of wood and the added value of wood. It is also an indispensable primary process for the production of wood products.

Wood drying equipment = oven?

Wood drying equipment to achieve the mandatory drying of wood, must have three basic functions: heating, humidity and ventilation. The heating function is self-evident; humidity control (steam jet or atomized water) is used to ensure the high humidity environment required for certain stages of drying to prevent the cracking and deformation of wood; the ventilation equipment must ensure that the hot and humid air passes through the wood pile uniformly. The various parts of the wood dry the moisture content. Simple wood "sintering oven" is generally directly or indirectly heated with hot stove gas, it is difficult to organize a reasonable air circulation, humidity is difficult to adjust or can not be adjusted, it is very difficult to obtain good drying effect with this simple equipment.

Which equipment and process is more important?

Good equipment performance is the basis for wood drying and is the precondition for performing the drying process. Process is the key to dry wood. The drying process of wood often lasts for several days or even dozens of days. When it is heated, it is very exquisite to adjust humidity. The correct process can ensure that the wood can be dried at the fastest speed while ensuring the lowest quality and energy consumption. Improper processes will cause many woods to be degraded or even scrapped due to dry defects and non-uniform moisture content. Equipment and processes are as inseparable as computer hardware and software.

The importance of measuring the moisture content of wood

Wood moisture content is one of the most important parameters of wood drying. The scientific drying process is based on the wood moisture content. When the moisture content of wood is high, lower temperature and higher humidity must be used. The moisture content of wood is about 30% is the key period. Drying must be carried out smoothly. When the wood moisture content of different wood piles varies greatly, it must be balanced. deal with……. Drying can only be done empirically without knowing the wood moisture content. Due to the variety of wood and the complexity of the wood, empirically dried wood is sometimes unreliable. Wood drying equipment with good performance should have the basic function of measuring wood moisture content.

Is automatic control necessary?

Drying of wood is a long process. During the whole process, the drying equipment must continuously adjust the environmental parameters in the drying kiln according to the change of the moisture content of the wood to ensure that the wood can be dried well. Manually controlling this process not only requires the operator to have more knowledge of the wood drying process, but also requires the operator to have a strong sense of responsibility and maintain a good mental state for a long time. Inexperienced or insomnia will lead to great Loss of wood drying. The automated control system is like an experienced and energetic watchman who faithfully performs every task of this drying process until the end of drying. For those who do not have much experience, especially for manufacturers with high dry quality requirements, configuring an automatic control system is particularly important.

Axial Flow Fan has a wide range of uses, that is, the airflow in the same direction as the fan blade's axis, such as the electric fan and the external fan of the air conditioner. It is called "axial flow" because the gas flows parallel to the fan shaft. Axial flow fans are usually used in situations with high flow requirements and low pressure requirements. The axial fan is fixed and moves the air. Axial flow fan is mainly composed of fan impeller and casing, with simple structure but high data requirements.
