The South Africa factory employs approximately 140 people and is the smallest and oldest titanium dioxide mill in Huntsman's Pigments Additives Division. Huntsman plans to close South African titanium dioxide plant
On July 6, Huntsman announced that it will shut down a titanium dioxide plant in South Africa in the fourth quarter of 2016, which currently has a capacity of 25,000 tons. The shutdown of the plant is expected to bring back approximately $200 million in cash back to Huntsman over the next two years.
