The advent of extensible wearable integrated circuits will help the development of the Internet of Things

According to the Daily Science Network, engineers at the University of Wisconsin-Madison recently developed the world's fastest-running extended wearable integrated circuit that is expected to drive the development of high-speed wireless networks with greater interconnectivity throughout the Internet of Things. Inspired by twisted-pair telephone cables, it consists of two ultra slimline transmission lines interleaved with a repeating S-shaped curve that twists like a 3D maze and allows the transmission line to stretch without compromising performance Not subject to external interference, but also to limit the electromagnetic waves flowing through them, almost completely eliminate the current loss.

Currently, the research team developed an extensible integrated circuit capable of operating at radio frequencies above 40 GHz. Unlike other stretchable transmission lines up to 64 mm wide, this integrated circuit is only 0.25 mm thick and "Petite Slim" makes it well-suited for epidermal electronics or other applications.
