The robot TOP10 summit in China was initiated by 10 robot companies including Shenyang Xinsong Robot, Anhui Eft, Nanjing Estun, and Guangzhou CNC. Xin Guobin, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, who participated in the summit, said bluntly: "At present, China's robotics industry has emerged as a trend toward 'low end of high-end industries' and there is potential for oversupply."

Xu Fang, president of the Shenyang Xinsong Robot Research Institute, told reporters: "Most of China's robotics companies are small in size and have no R&D capabilities. Some enterprises with a small scale are also underresearched due to market demand and risks. There are a large number of companies and industries. Scattered, it is also easy to form a situation where you can go "up and down."

The industry has obvious weaknesses

In recent years, China's robotic industry has developed rapidly. According to data from the National Bureau of Statistics, China's industrial robot production in 2015 was 32,996 units, an increase of 21.7% over the same period last year.

At the same time, the weakness of China's robotics industry is still very obvious. According to the White Paper, China's domestic industrial robots are mainly medium and low-end products, mainly handling and loading and unloading robots. Most of them are three-axis and four-axis robots. They are used in high-end six-axis or higher-end industries such as automobile manufacturing and welding. The industrial robot market is mainly occupied by Japanese, European, and European companies. Domestically produced six-axis industrial robots account for less than 10% of the country's total installed capacity of industrial robots.

Qu Daokui, President of Shenyang Xinsong Robotics, previously stated that robots are high-end equipment. However, in the high-end market, most of the markets are still monopolized by foreign companies, and autonomous products account for only about 145%.

"The core components such as motors, drives, and high-precision speed reducers rely on imports, which account for about 60% to 70% of the cost. The core technology is hollow, the core components are imported, and the high-end market is marginalized. It is currently the three short boards of our country's traditional robots." Qu Daokui said.

Xin Guobin bluntly said: "China's robotics industry has emerged a trend of 'low-end high-end industries'."

The "Robotic Industry Development Plan (2016~2020)" (hereinafter referred to as "Planning") released in April this year proposes to take the lead in breaking the ten iconic features of arc welding robots, vacuum (clean) robots, surgical robots, and intelligent nursing robots. The reporter learned that the Chinese robot TOP10 was established to be a promoter and practitioner of the development of high-end think tanks for robotics in China and the development of the Chinese robotics industry. Industry integration has begun to emerge

At present, all parts of the world favor the robot industry. According to data from the China Robotics Industry Alliance, over 40 robotic industrial parks have been built and under construction in the past two years.

With regard to the status quo of a large number of enterprises entering the game, Xin Guobin frankly stated: "The robot industry in our country has the potential for oversupply."

A large number of robot companies saw that welding robots and palletizing robots are selling well, and they did it all in one go. These have already been done by others. The fact that these companies not only lack competitiveness but also lead to excess capacity in the industry.”

Xin Guobin mentioned that the robotics industry must avoid blind expansion and low-level redundant construction. He also said: "China's robotics companies not only have to go their own, but also go side by side, we must pay more attention to cooperation between enterprises, to achieve complementary advantages, cooperation and win-win."

The robot TOP10 that was established this time also proposes to support TOP10 companies to increase their industrial scale through mergers and acquisitions and restructuring.

It is worth noting that the integration of the robot industry has also begun to emerge. Wang Jiegao, general manager of Nanjing Eston Robotics Corp., told reporters: "We will actively seek acquisitions and mergers of outstanding companies that have synergistic effects on the company's two core businesses and have performance support."
