Qualification survey: 2/3 of the interviewed organizations are not qualified

With regard to the chaos of indoor air detection, the Morning News reporter recently adopted Baidu and randomly selected 18 indoor air testing agencies in the city.

After logging into the website one by one, the reporter found that most of these agencies claimed that they were "relatively independent" and "professional indoor air testing." However, it is interesting to note that many organizations are engaged in various other “living” activities such as R&D, production, sales of environmental protection equipment, and even some “jewelry appraisals”.

More importantly, out of the 18 randomly selected institutions, 13 claimed to have cooperated with a laboratory or passed certification of relevant departments and could issue an “authoritative test data”.

In the industry, the so-called "authoritative test data" is a report with the "CMA" mark. In layman's terms, “CMA” is a national mandatory qualification certification. An organization can only perform air testing if it obtains “CMA”.

However, after the reporters checked one by one, they found that only six of the 18 agencies had “CMA” qualifications. In other words, two-thirds of the testing organizations randomly selected for investigation are not qualified.

Quotation Survey: Deception by low-cost non-professional reports

"Why is it so cheap? Because many organizations can only provide a corporate report." Industry veterans say that indoor air testing does not have a reference to the "corporate report." "This kind of report cannot explain any problems."

"For ordinary people, the key is to see whether there is a 'CMA' mark on the report, because the latter not only means that the results of indoor air testing are credible and professional, but also has certain legal effects, which will help to further protect rights in the future." Industry veterans say that for some testing organizations, replacing “CMA” reports with “corporate reports” has “a lot of profits, and they don’t have to take responsibility.”

The Morning News reporter then asked again for the randomly selected 18 institutions. As a result, no one initiative explained whether the test report issued had a “CMA”.

Interestingly, as soon as the "CMA" was mentioned, a testing agency on Xinhu Road immediately raised its quotation, rising from the previous "point" of 150 yuan to 500 yuan.

Promotion survey: take others' qualifications

A laboratory is indispensable for a qualified or professional indoor air testing agency. But in fact, this is a bit difficult for the 18 randomly selected reporters.

According to statistics, 14 of the 18 institutions claim to own a laboratory. However, when reporters wanted to go to the field, five of them refused with a series of excuses. In addition, although some organizations provided specific addresses for laboratories, the reporters verified that these laboratories belonged to another completely different testing agency.
