Differentiated alliance development

Although the Yangtze River ranks first in the world's inland shipping volume, there is still a problem of insufficient waterway capacity and low level of port intensification. The reporter learned from the Yangtze River Navigation Authority and other departments that the three provinces of Hubei, Hunan, and Jiangxi are actively strengthening cooperation and taking measures to rectify navigation channels, build large-scale ports, and accelerate the integration of resources.

In terms of waterway governance, the three provinces jointly promoted the "645" project of the Yangtze River, namely the 6km from Wuhan to Anqing in the mainstream of the Yangtze River and the 4.5m deepwater channel improvement project from Yichang to Wuhan, according to the "Strive to Integrate into the State's 13th Five-Year Plan, and in the 13th The goal of the five 'startup of certain segments' has been accelerated. The three provinces also worked together to promote the regulation of the Songhu River waterway in the “Four South Rivers of Jingnan” to form a major north-south waterway, connect the Jianghan Canal, and take the water route north to Xinyang, Henan.

The three provinces will give full play to the roles of the ports of Wuhan Port, Yueyang Port, and Jiujiang Port, and strengthen cooperation in division of labor to avoid excessive competition.
