Diesel engine production and sales in January 2012 decreased year-on-year

In January 2012, the production and sales of vehicle diesel engines in China completed 240,733 sets and 203,599 sets, respectively, down by 42.52% and 49.65% respectively from the same period of last year.

Diesel engines ranked among the top ten diesel engines in terms of output, with output of 43,526 units, 29,485 units, 28,902 units, 16,606 units, 16,264 units, 14,213 units, 1,1965 units, 11,354 units, 10,391 units, and 10,107 units, respectively, which accounted for the total output of diesel engines. The above-mentioned ten companies produced a total of 192,813 diesel engines, accounting for 80.09% of the total output of diesel engines. The production of these ten companies was in a downward trend year-on-year, with double-digit declines. Among them, the company with the largest year-on-year decline in production was Weichai with a drop of 65.88%. The smallest drop was driven by Weichai Power, which fell by 17.51%.

The company with the largest decline was Weichai, with a decrease of 75.30%, and the smallest decline was Jiangling, a decrease of 21.76%.
