At the same time, major automakers in Guangzhou have already started sharpening their jobs and started a new round of expansion.
Last month's output value increased by 18.9% year-on-year
According to a report released this week by the Guangzhou Municipal Economic and Trade Commission and the Statistics Bureau, the increase in the local auto manufacturing industry rebounded sharply, driving the growth of the three pillar industries including automotive, electronics and petrochemicals. In May, the city’s auto manufacturing industry achieved a total output value of 17.019 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.9%, a growth rate of 9.5 percentage points from the previous month, and an automobile output of 86,100 vehicles, which was a year-on-year increase of 1.8% and 21.7% respectively.
The report of the Guangzhou Municipal Economic and Trade Commission also pointed out that with the rapid growth of the automobile industry in Huadu District, the cumulative growth of the total industrial output value reached 23.1%, which was the highest in all cities and the growth rate was 3.1%. According to the Nanfang Daily, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle Co., Ltd., which settled in Huadu, saw rapid growth in production and sales.
With the Guangzhou automobile industry as the main body, the total output value of the Guangdong automobile industry has been the top three in the country this year. According to the latest data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the total output value of Guangdong's auto industry in April was 22.3 billion yuan, accounting for 9.2% in China.
According to the plan, in 2009, Guangzhou's vehicle production target was 950,000 vehicles and the output value was 200 billion yuan. The "Pearl River Delta Regional Reform and Development Plan Outline (2008-2020)" issued at the beginning of this year proposes that "Guangdong should speed up the development of auto industry clusters based on self-owned brands and autonomous technologies, and build 2-3 production values ​​worth over 100 billion yuan. Large-scale automobile manufacturing enterprises, building an international automobile manufacturing base.†Guangzhou City also has a clear plan to strengthen and expand the Guangzhou automobile industry and drive the development of the auto parts industry in the Pearl River Delta region.
Last year, the production of cars in Guangzhou reached 879,400, surpassing Shanghai to rank first in the country for the first time. In the second half of 2008, the gross output value of Guangdong's automobile industry surpassed that of Jilin, Shandong, and Zhejiang provinces to rank first in the country.
Commercial vehicles become new growth points
Nanfang Daily learned from Guangzhou Automobile Group that in August this year, GAC Hino Heavy Trucks will be formally put into production. This is the fourth largest vehicle production project introduced by Guangzhou after Honda, Toyota, and Nissan. The total new investment of the GAC Hino Motor Project is about 3.1 billion yuan, of which Conghua Base covers an area of ​​1.06 million square meters, and produces key components such as Hino Heavy Trucks, tractors, and Yangcheng Brand light trucks, engines and drive axles. The scale of 20,000 heavy trucks and 30,000 light trucks.
After the production of GAC Hino, it will expand the development of GAC Group in the field of commercial vehicles, thus expanding the plate of the Guangzhou automobile manufacturing industry.
